Dutch-based non-profit Mars One has narrowed down the list of applicants to 50 men and 50 women who will compete for a one-way ticket to Mars.

The search began in 2013 with thousands of eager volunteers and after a rigorous selection process that number has been reduced to 100.  Mars One plans to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars and will send crews of four every two years starting in 2024.  In this video, we meet three people from around the globe who have volunteered for this brave mission.
