Don't get me wrong, I know the severity of Hurricane Sandy, but truth be told, locally we lucked out.  Strong winds throughout the region caused much concern and I don't think anybody got much sleep last night. I thought my household was pretty much prepared for the storm.  We put away almost everything that was outside...so I thought.   Last evening I heard a thud outside on our porch.  We had left a chair (that we walk by everyday) on the porch and it had blown over.  As I looked out the window at the chair, I noticed my husbands favorite shoes, his crocs were left outside.

They were just sitting outside the door, moving ever so gently from the wind.  "Aren't you going to get those?" I asked my husband.  "I can't," he replied, "they have dog poop on them."  Well, what do you know,  husbands do listen.  We have two dogs and sometimes, when you are in the yard you step in a surprise.  The rule is, if you step in it, leave your shoes on the porch, don't wear them inside.

I was going to make an exception, after all they are his favorite shoes, but he was willing to make that sacrifice.  So there, Sandy, I beat you.  By the way, the dog poop must have weighed the crocs down just enough because they were still there this morning.
