Hundreds of people, of all ages, lined the Main Street of Sidney on Saturday to enjoy the first ever "Irish for a Day" St. Patrick's Day Parade.  Sponsored by the Sidney Chamber of Commerce, the parade featured 35 parade units including, fire trucks, horses, dancers, jugglers, bagpipes, social clubs, doggies, color guards, Doodle Bugs, special guests and many more.

"It was a fantastic day," Teri Schunk said.  She is the Vice-President of the Sidney Chamber of Commerce.  "Hundreds came to this, our first Irish parade, and we will be hosting it every year on the Saturday before St. Patrick's Day.  We just felt that after a long hard winter it was time for a little fun in downtown Sidney.  The merchants were busy, the weather cooperated and there were many smiles on the faces of those along the parade route.  Everybody said it was bigger than their wildest dreams.  And next year's will be even bigger and better!"
