Home Invasion Robbery Results in Three Arrests
Delaware County Sheriff's Deputies and Investigators, assisted by Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Ozzie” and Margaretville/Stamford Troopers, arrested three area residents Tuesday on Sealed Grand Jury Indictment Warrants issued by the Delaware County Court.
32-year-old Leon Grizzard of South Kortright and 27-year-old Amanda Gahan of Walton were arrested at a Hobart residence. A search of the Hobart residence was conducted by Sheriff’s Deputies, Troopers and Sheriff’s Office K-9 “Ozzie” and led to the seizure of a quantity of heroin, hypodermic instruments and marihuana.
27-year-old Andrew Dougherty of Delhi was arrested in the Delaware County Correctional Facility where he is currently serving his sentence on an unrelated conviction.
Grizzard, Dougherty and Gahan were indicted Monday by a Grand Jury on charges of Robbery in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Petit Larceny and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. The three are accused of unlawfully entering a Town of Tompkins residence in June, 2012 and robbing the residents, at gun point, of cash and drugs.
Following the search of the Hobart residence, Deputies arrested and charged Gahan with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. Grizzard and 35 year old Jeremy Key of Hobart were each charged with Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.
Grizzard, Dougherty and Gahan were arraigned on Wednesday afternoon and were remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility without bail pending further court proceedings.
Key was issued an Appearance Ticket Tuesday afternoon directing him to appear in the Town of Stamford Court to answer his charges. Grizzard and Gahan will be arraigned on the drug related charges in the Town of Stamford Court at a later time.
