What do hot chocolate, running, walking, or rolling have in common?  They are all part of The Arc Otsego's fun, all-inclusive fundraising event, the annual “Hot Cocoa 5k Run & 1k Walk, Run and Roll”. It's coming up on November 7th at Neahwa Park in Oneonta.

Proceeds will benefit the Helping Hands program of The Arc Otsego which assists individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to seize life's opportunities and overcome life's challenges.

Those who finish any of the events will receive a fresh hot cup of cocoa and a free t-shirt if registered by Oct. 4. Participants can register online until Oct. 31, or in-person the day of the race in Neahwa Park. Mail-in registration has a deadline of Oct. 29.

The cost is for the timed 5k is $20 online, or $25 same day. The 1k is $12 online, or $15 same day. Participants under 5 for the 1k are free. Prizes will be given to the top finishers in each age category. The 1k kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and the 5k at 10:00 a.m. Not a runner or a walker?
