The annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta will remain a virtual event again this year, due to New York State COVID-19 restrictions.

The Bainbridge Chamber of Commerce announced on Facebook, that while looking at all options, public safety was the biggest concern, and made the decision yesterday to allow participants to complete the 70 mile course on their own.

General Clinton Canoe  Regatta officially began in 1966 and brings people from all over the country, Canada and even Europe

The Annual Regatta has always been a one of the biggest summer events in the Bainbridge area, with hundreds of creative Canoes, along with events, food and entertainment.

According to their Facebook page, participants will have a window from May 28, 2021 to May 31, 2021 to successfully complete the 70-mile course, this must be done continuously on one of the designated days.

The entry fee is $30, and all Participants must provide their own GPS tracker, and be able to present proof of finish and commitment to the actual course.

Once proof is presented to the race committee, you will be officially entered as a finisher and be mailed a finishers t-shirt.

To reduce crowds and lines, all registrations will be on line beginning May 1, 2021 and you must pre-register to be officially entered.
