Filmmaking Now Easier in New York State
Governor Cuomo signed legislation yesterday that will strengthen existing incentives offered by the state to attract additional film post-production activity in New York.
The new law will expand post-production into upstate New York. The law increases the tax credit for post-production from 10 % to 30% in the downstate area and to 35% in other parts of the state.
Since 2004, tax credits have generated more than $7.5 billion in economic impact and supported 522,000 hires.
