As Governor Andrew Cuomo pushes a slate of issues including campaign finance reform, the Democratic State Committee, which can accept unlimited donations, is moving forward with several advertising campaigns to support him.

The new ads are the first sign of a reboot of the committee that includes the formation of several issue-based subcommittees, including: New Yorkers for Economic Growth, New Yorkers for Gun Safety, New Yorkers for Immigration Reform and New Yorkers for Education Reform.

Cuomo, a freshman who previously served as attorney general, is de facto head of the state party.

People familiar with the new effort said it would help bulk up the party machine in advance of the 2014 elections, when Cuomo, the state's 213 legislators and other statewide officeholders are up for re-election. This will include the development of voters databases and other digital outreach.
