Deborah Makes the Beer Fest…With the Help of a Good Friend

I have finally recovered from the awesome good time I had at the Snommegang Beer Festival in Oneonta on Saturday.

One of the best parts of the day was meeting our ticket winners, including the winner of the WDLA ticket giveaway, Deborah Wood. She had a wonderful story to tell me and I want to share it with you.

Deborah "I never win anything" Wood was so confident that she wouldn't win the tickets that she didn't really pay much attention to her work schedule. Turns out she did win the tickets, but was unfortunately scheduled to work a shift at her job. It was beginning to look like she wouldn't be able to make it when fate intervened in the form of a friend and co-worker at the Big M.

Lorri Williams, on hearing of Deborah's problem, knew exactly how things were going to go. Her friend was going to the festival and would have a wonderful time. She wouldn't accept any argument about that. And so Lorri sent her friend off to have fun...and gave up her own Saturday to cover Deborah's shift.

That is a great friend and an excellent co-worker! Thanks, Lorri. The beer festival wouldn't have been quite the same without Walton in the house.
