Dax Shepard Reveals Once Dated Ashley Olsen and Was ‘Thunderstruck’ By Her
Did you know Dax Shepard and Ashley Olsen were once in a relationship?
In a recent episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, Dax revealed he dated Ashley “15 or 16 years ago," which would have been 2006 or 2007.
“She’s just the most wonderful person. She’s fantastic,” Dax shared while discussing her and Mary-Kate's clothing line, The Row.
“When we were dating was when she was putting all her energy and focus into launching that in a big way. So, I was able to see her meet with design teams and, like, run her s--t and [how] she handled her [business], and it’s very impressive," the actor continued.
Though Mary-Kate and Ashley typically keep out of the limelight and are rather private individuals, Dax revealed the twins have similar personalities.
“[Ashley and Mary-Kate] are sarcastic. I would imagine, on the surface, that’s a pretty weird pairing but she’s super funny and sarcastic and intelligent. And they are major f--king bosses.”
Prior to dating Ashley, Dax had never watched an episode of Full House, which he believes helped him see her as a person and not as a former TV child star.
“I luckily never saw that show because I probably wouldn’t have been able to be attracted to Ashley if I knew her as a baby," he explained. "I just saw her at a party and was kind of thunderstruck by her beauty.”
One of the things the two bonded over was their love of cars, particularly the Cadillac DeVille DTS, which Ashley actually owned at the time when they met.
“I wouldn’t mind reconnecting with her to find out if she still has that DTS,” Dax quipped.
Dax did not specify when or where they broke up. However, he began dating his now-wife Kristen Bell in 2007. The couple tied the knot in 2013 and share their two daughters: Lincoln, 8, and Delta, 7. Meanwhile, Ashley is currently dating artist Louis Eisner.
