The new 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' trailer has dropped in to preview the upcoming war between the highly evolved apes dominating Earth and the remaining shreds of mankind. Who will win out? Well, this is part of the prequel stories leading up to the original 'Planet of the Apes' movies, so ... you should already know the answer.

As the simian flu released at the end of 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' decimates humanity, a small community of straggler humans attempt to survive in this new world where Andy Serkis' Caesar helps his ape brethren to flourish as the planet's dominate species. While Jason Clarke's Malcolm wants to co-exist peacefully with these creatures, there's a rising tide of ape oppression, coming mainly from Gary Oldman's Dreyfus. And, as Patrick Stewart so perfectly states in 'X2,' "sharing has never been humanity's defining attribute," so you know there will be a stand-off between these two species fighting for their place in the world.

The final 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' trailer is all about this inevitable showdown -- from the machine gun-slinging apes on horseback to the maniac simian slaughtering his prey, this is one story with no happy ending. The film is directed by Matt Reeves, who took over from Matthew Vaughn ('Rise'), and features a cast that includes Keri Russell, Judy Greer, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Toby Kebbell and Kirk Acevedo, and will be released July 11.

UPDATE: We've included the final international trailer, which has slightly different footage, below.
