Dante Major Sentenced to 55 Years on Drug Conviction

Dante Major, 36, was sentenced to 55 years in prison on four felony drug charges.

He is believed to be the head of heroin and other opiate distribution in Otsego County and the surrounding area.

Major was arrested in March, 2012, after being pulled over for a traffic violation. At that time a warrant was out for his arrest for more than 13 ounces of oxycontin powder recovered from two homes in the area in 2011.

He was also ordered to pay $260,000 in fines in addition to the sentence.
