Cuomo Signs Law Raising NYS Smoking Age From 18 to 21
The countdown is on until New York’s legal smoking age goes from 18 to 21. On Tuesday Governor Andrew Cuomo signed the bill raising the legal age and it will go into effect in mid-November. The higher age requirement applies to both tobacco products and e-cigarettes or vaping materials. According to the Governor’s office tobacco use continues to be the number one cause of preventable death in New York State.
