Cuomo Directs State Agencies To Support Transgender Service Members
According to Governor Andrew Cuomo's Office, Cuomo has ordered state agencies to support transgender services members who are displaced following the Trump administration’s implementation of a new policy on Friday requiring them to adhere to the dress and grooming standards of their biological gender. Cuomo says in 2015 New York took action to affirm that all transgender people are protected under the State’s Human Rights Law, and this year those protections were put into State law with the Gender Expression Nondiscrimination Act.
