The Otsego County Department of Health (OCDH) provided an update yesterday on the number of new COVID-19 cases at SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick College, both in the City of Oneonta. Cases are trailing off at SUNY Oneonta among the student population and there were only 14 additional cases recorded Tuesday and Wednesday bringing the total on Thursday to 665 (since the beginning of the outbreak).

Hartwick College’s case count remains at 11. No one from the community is allowed on that campus and can be cited for trespassing. Just faculty/staff and students are permitted to be on the property.

County-wide, the OCDH reports that there are 829 total confirmed cases (from the beginning) as of yesterday with 268 of those active and no hospitalizations. The state department of health reports a total of 6 county residents have died from COVID-19 related complications.
