Cooperstown Man Arrested For False Missing Child Report

The Otsego County Sheriff's Department is reporting that on Sunday, a Cooperstown man was arrested after falsely reporting a missing child on August 1. Alexander J. Lind, 51 years old, has been charged with Making a False Written Statement and Endangering the Welfare of a Child following an investigation that led police to the "missing" child who was located at a residence in Herkimer County, a situation that had been created by Lind. The child has been reunited with his family.

Lind was issued a ticket to appear at the Town of Middlefield Court at a later date.
