UHS Orthopedics on Newton Ave. in Norwich unveiled its new imaging equipment and expanded orthopedic clinical space last week.

A ceremony was held at the site to honor several community organizations for helping with the project and to let them see the new technology that keeps Chenango Memorial Hospital in tune with the highest standards in health care.

President and CEO of Chenango Memorial Hospital Dr. Drake Lamen thanked the community organizations for covering the entire cost of the project.

"We really are lucky to get this kind of community support," he said. "When we add up the machine -- the new X-ray machine -- and all the renovations, we're looking at better than $600,000 and it was all covered by these donations. I want to thank everybody that had a part in that."

Dr. Lamen extended thanks to the UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation, the Roger Follet Foundation, the Greater Norwich Foundation, the Elizabeth and George Mead Foundation, the R.C. Smith Foundation; and Chobani yogurt’s Shepard's Gift Foundation, which bought the new imaging equipment for the orthopedic practice.
