The brothers charged in the Oneonta Alley murder have pleaded not guilty. Nicholas DeCutler, 35, and Terry DeCutler, 31, were indicted on second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 24-year-old Kaleb O’Neill. The judge overseeing the case determined that the brothers would be a flight risk and imposed a high bail.

Brandon Hilts pleaded guilty to the attempted strangulation of his girlfriend. Hilts, 30, of Cherry Valley, is expected to be sentenced to two-to-four years in prison.

Davaun J. Chandler of Earlville was arrested by New York State troopers and is facing felony child pornography charges. Authorities allege Chandler was in possession of and was promoting images of child sexual exploitation.

State police arrest a Guilford woman for allegedly illegally listening to private conversations. 25-year-old Mallorie M. Lewis is charged with felonious eavesdropping. Authorities said Lewis secretly placed a recording device within a victim’s property in Norwich so she could listen to private conversations. If convicted she faces up to four years in prison.

47-year-old James Amato of Colchester was arrested by Delaware County deputies and charges with criminal trespass and criminal mischief. Amato is accused of cutting a gate lock and entering property after being told he was not allowed to be on the land.

Delaware County sheriff’s deputies arrested and 11-year-old from Bovina and charged the juvenile with multiple incidents of vandalism. Authorities said the youngster painted graffiti in several areas around the hamlet of Bovina and the Bovina town park.

On July 25, 1962 a tanker truck carrying 7000 gallons of propane went off the road and exploded. Homes and buildings were destroyed and ten people lost their lives, including the driver of the truck.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation rescues humans lost or hurt while hiking, boating or just enjoying the great outdoors. But they also rescue the animals that call the outdoors home. Officers have rescued 7 animals in the last 20 days alone.
