Chenango County to Receive Economic Development Funds

The Southern Tier has been dubbed a top performer for Governor Cuomo’s 3rd Regional Economic Development Awards, earning $81.9 million in development funding.

To implement their economic plan State Senator Tom Libous, who is serving his second year on the Southern Tier Economic Development Council, says his priority is job creation and job training programs.

In Chenango County eight projects will get funding, including $500,000 for the restoration of the Sherburne Inn; over $266,000 to assist Chenango County ARC; $100,000 for the Family Enrichment Network; and $150,000 for Development Chenango Corporation.

Projects are also being funded in New Berlin, Greene, Oxford and the Chenango County Council of the Arts.
