Chenango County Represented at Central New York Veterans Recognition Ceremony

Chenango County Farm Bureau president Bradd Vickers attended the 12th annual Central New York Veterans Recognition ceremony Saturday, hosted by the Oneida Indian Nation.

Vickers, a Chenango County Vietnam war veteran, said he was honored to be invited to the event.

Guest speaker was NY Air Guard Colonel Dawne I. Deskins, commander of the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) in Rome. Colonel Deskins discussed the role of EADS and the central New York military response to the call she took Sept. 11, 2001.

As first allies of the United States during the revolutionary war, the Oneida Nation finds it important to remember and honor those who served and those now serving in the armed forces.
