Chenango County Man Arrested For Assault With Car

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested a North Norwich man Monday for multiple offenses after an investigation into a domestic dispute.

Deputies responded to a North Norwich residence after a report of a woman being hit by a car. After investigation, George Ballard stands accused of physically assaulting the victim, as well as hitting the victim with his car.

Ballard was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail. He was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal obstruction of breathing, and unlawful imprisonment.
