Chenango County is Debt Free

According to the state comptroller's office, Chenango County is one of just four New York counties that is debt free.

The last debt was paid last May in the amount of $225,000 owed on the $3 million solid waste landfill in Pharsalia.

Board of Supervisors chair Lawrence Wilcox of Oxford thanked all county department heads and employees who helped keep costs down.
