Charter Communications unveiled a new internet service for those with reduced income. According to the company Spectrum, Internet Assist offers speeds of 30 megabytes per second downstream and 4 Mbps upstream at a monthly cost of $14.99 for new customers who qualify. Families with children participating in the National School Lunch Program or Community Eligibility Provision along with seniors age 65 and older who receive Supplemental Security Income are eligible for the program.
