Bill In NY Legislature Would Ban Kids Tackle Football
A bill introduced in the State Legislature last week would bar children under the age of 12 to play tackle football. The bill sponsored by Bronx Assemblyman Michael Benedetto would not allow any child to play, practice, or engage in organized tackle football. It does not ban kids from playing football that doesn’t involve tackling, such as flag football. So far there is no co-sponsor in the Senate for the measure that Benedetto first introduced in 2013.
