Apple’s 128GB iPad Released Before Microsoft’s Surface Pro
Apple will release a 128GB iPad starting Tuesday, February 5th, and this latest model has twice the storage capacity of the current 64GB versions. For memory hounds keeping score, owners of the Galaxy Note, the BlackBerry Playbook, or the Kindle Fire have tablets that can hold up to 64GB. Microsoft's Surface Pro, which hits stores February 9th, is being released in a 64GB and 128GB version.
"With more than 120 million iPads sold, it's clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and every day they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs," said Philip Schiller, Apple senior vice president of World Marketing. "With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs."
Available in black or white, the 128GB iPads are priced at $799 for the iPad with Wi-Fi model and $929 for the iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular model. In comparison, the Surface Pro's 128GB tablet retails at $999.
