This week marks the second anniversary of the floods from tropical storms Irene and Lee.

The region suffered water damage, and the Binghamton region saw record-breaking high water that destroyed neighborhoods and businesses.

The American Red Cross is taking the opportunity to remind families they need to be prepared for natural disasters by using three easy steps toward preparedness.

They say families should make a plan, be informed, and make a kit.

The kit includes cleaning supplies, food and other items.

More information can be found at the American Red Cross web site.
