Disney’s Encanto was a hit with Disney fans all over the world when it released in theaters November 24th, 2021 and Disney+ on Christmas Eve. The movie follows the Madrigals, a magical family in which each member has a special ability that allows them to help their small Colombian town. With its captivating story and lovable characters, it's easy to see how so many people fell in love with the film.

If you're an Encanto fan, specifically a lover of the all-hearing Dolores Madrigal, then you'll be happy to hear that Dolores' voice actor, Adassa, will be a special guest at the 2022 Hub City Comic Convention.

Adassa is a Latina singer and actor born in Miami, Florida and raised on the Virgin Islands. She was primarily known for her musical collaborations with artists like Daddy Yankee, Lil Jon and Pitbull before her acting debut in Encanto.

Her background as a musician along with the rest of the movie's cast is really what made it so successful. Lin-Manuel Miranda, the amazing composer known best for his hit Broadway musical Hamilton, wrote the Encanto soundtrack after diving deep into Colombia's culture and music. He took everything he learned from iconic Colombian artists like Shakira, Carlos Vivek and Joe Arroyo and managed to create amazing tracks, like the number 1 charting song "We Don't Talk About Bruno," which features so many of the film's amazing voice actors, including Adassa.

Hub City Comic Convention is one of the best events of the year to gather with your fellow nerds, geeks, cosplayers, weebs and fangirls/fanboys and celebrate comic books, anime/manga, movies, TV shows and video games.

This year's convention will take place at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center (1501 Mac Davis Lane) from August 19- August 21, 2022. The event will be full of vendors, artists, panels and special guests of all sorts to fit any fandom you might be a part of. So whether you want to meet your favorite character or snag some merch, there's something for everyone.

As of this story's publication, the convention's organizers have only announced two guests: Adassa, and Jason David Frank, AKA the Green Ranger from Power Rangers. If you want an idea of who else might come, last year they had special guests from My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Mortal Kombat and more. We're eager to see what this year's final list of special guests looks like.

Keep an eye on Hub City Comic Convention's official Facebook page for more special guest announcements, as well as information on panels, cosplay contests and other cool stuff. Tickets are available to purchase at the convention's website.
