Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Greeting Cards are Hard, Especially for You
Dan Cassavaugh, our Digital Managing Editor, deserves a big hug today. Today, September 18, is "Hug A Greeting Card Writer Day". I always thought I could write a greeting card but after hearing Dan's story, I'm not sure my words would be worthy. When Dan was nine years old he wrote a powerful poem for a greeting card and it goes like this:
"Roses are red,
violets are blue,
fire is hot, (now, wait for it....)
and so are you"
Simple but brilliant. If only this card was published. Well, I know what line I'm going to use next time I pen a little love letter to my sweetie. So could you do it? Could you write a greeting card?
