TOWNSQUARE MEDIA IDOL RULES AND REGULATIONS 

WHAT IS TOWNSQUARE MEDIA IDOL ALL ABOUT?

The purpose of the Townsquare Media Idol talent search is to develop and encourage amateur entertainers throughout Otsego, Chenango, Delaware Counties and surrounding community area residents to join in on the fun. Townsquare Media Idol will provide winners with the opportunity to perform at local venues throughout the year and record at Impact Studios and compete for Savings Bonds.

WHEN ARE AUDITIONS AND WHEN DOES THE CONTEST TAKE PLACE?

A competition limited to pre-registered contestants will be held at The Oneonta Theatre on Chestnut Street in Oneonta, NY.

A panel of judges will select contestants to proceed to the next step of the competition. The contestants chosen will be contacted.

The winners in each division may be asked throughout the year to perform at other Townsquare Media events.

The junior division winners will receive savings bonds valued at $500 each and a 2 hour recording session at Transitions Studios in Afton torecord a brand new jingle for Five Star Subaru.

Second place in each division will receive a savings bond valued at $200.

Third place in each division will receive a savings bond valued at $50.

WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR THE COMPETITION?

1. Two age groups (11-15) and (16-20) will compete on the initial audition nights.

2. The judges of the auditions will be looking for performers that are entertaining, promising, show natural ability and audience appeal. They will be judged in the following categories:

a. Vocal Tone
b. Vocal Pitch
c. Stage Presence
d. Connection with Audience

3. All performances must be NO LONGER than FOUR MINUTES in length.

4. Vocalists may not use instruments, or a pre recorded backup soundtrack. Townsquare Media will provide Karaoke sound system.

5. All lyrics must be suitable for a family audience. Contestants agree to conduct themselves in a manner that will honor themselves during all stages of the competition.

6. At the Oneonta Theatre on May 23rd, 2012, winners will be chosen based on tally sheets from qualified judges. All decisions are final.

7. Contestant gives permission to use their name and/or likeness for advertising/publicity or trade purposes without further compensation.

8. Parents must sign applications for minors.

9. Applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these official rules.
