With live wrestling action in Oneonta this Saturday, May 3, 2014, I had to share this 'Throwback Thursday' picture.  Rumble On The Mound, a fundraising event for the Oneonta Outlaws, reminded me of a great story.

My band, Lazy T, was part of the New York State Association of Agricultural Fairs, NYSAAF, annual convention in Rochester, New York in 1997.  I got to meet a lot of up and coming acts and professional entertainers.  The one I remember the most was professional wrestler, Cousin Luke.  He was part of Hillbilly Jim's clan on the then WWF, which is now WWE.  He passed in 2013.

He was so funny and gave the biggest bear hugs!  We joked around and I remember him asking me about the band.  Now look closely at the picture (above) again.  Yes, that is a Lazy T button he is wearing!  And he kept it on the whole time he was the convention.  I thought that was pretty cool.

We got a good number of gigs from that convention.  Was it our performance at the showcase or was it because of Cousin Luke?  Maybe a little of both.  All I know is I had a professional wrestler in head lock.  That's right...I'm bad.
