I love to get out in nature and walk so as you can imagine, I am always looking for the best places near and around Oneonta to go.  If there's ever a time to get out and enjoy the season it's now since the leaves are just about at fall peak for our Central New York area.

My favorite place to go is on Hartwick College property.  There is a well-known trail that leads to "Table Rock", a very large flat rock at the top of a hill on campus that looks out over the valley surrounding Oneonta.  It's the most bang for your buck as a hike because it's easy!  It's a quick 1.5 mile look trail that is great for most abilities.  You can bring the kids and you won't hear them say, "I'm bored!" because it's a short walk to Table Rock (about 10 to 15 minutes?) and the view it provides is beautiful!  Below is a video from SUNY Oneonta that really shows it off.
