Selena Gomez has had an exciting year. From performing at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show to releasing her R&B-infused album Revival and spawning her first No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Chart ("Good for You"), and with a sorority sister role in the upcoming college comedy Neighbors 2 on the horizon, things don't seem to be slowing down any time soon for the "Hands to Myself" singer and 2016 Forbes "30 Under 30" honoree.

Adding to her remarkable year, tonight also marks Gomez's musical guest debut on NBC's sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, which is currently in its 41st season and has so far welcomed other massive musical guests including Miley Cyrus, Sia, and Adele.

In addition to Gomez's musical performance, tonight's episode will also be hosted by another SNL first-timer: former and longtime MMA champion Ronda Rousey. This wont mark Rousey's first time acting, though—the sports star has previously appeared in films including Furious 7, The Expendables 3, and the Entourage movie, portraying both characters as well as appearing as herself in cameo roles.

Aside from this episode serving as a double debut for both ladies, it will also mark another milestone as the first episode during the show's current season in which both the host and the musical guest are women. The last time both host and music performer were women was back on May 9, 2015 during season 40, in which Reese Witherspoon hosted and Florence + the Machine performed. (In contrast, season 39 never saw two women headline the same episode of SNL.) As such, tonight's episode should be brimming with girl power in every sense of the phrase!
