Schniederman Meets with Medical Field Specialists About I-STOP

Thinkstock.com

Attorney general Eric Schniederman traveled to Buffalo yesterday where he met with a coalition of families, doctors, pharmacists and elected officials to detail the impact of new legislation that will curb prescription drug abuse and end forged or stolen prescriptions.

I-stop, “The Internet System for Tracking Over Prescribing” act will enable an online database that enables doctors and pharmacists to report and track prescription drug abuse, the nation’s fastest growing drug problem, in real time.

Schneiderman says the I-STOP legislation will be a model for other states to follow in curbing Rx drug abuse.
