This weekend was the kick off of a new youth soccer season in Oneonta, New York.  Surrounding communities such as Davenport, Laurens, Morris, Unadilla, Franklin, and many others have youth teams that participate in the Saturday morning games.  This year, it is official, I am a soccer mom.

Short of having a minivan, I have the soccer mom thing down pretty good.  Lawn chairs, snacks, drinks, blanket, and my camera.  It is fun watching the kids run around chasing the ball.  Kind of reminds me of a school of fish or a swarm of bees.  All moving together in one mass and the couches patiently trying to spread everyone out.  It is a fun league and no score is kept.  But, come on, everyone knows who wins, even if it isn't the point of the game.  We all have that bit of competitiveness in us.

Looking forward to Saturdays this fall, although I have been warned by the other parents about chilly October games.
