What a fun remote broadcast this past Saturday at Oneonta Ford Rte 23 SS Oneonta.    Things were really hopping.  The Tri Valley Colts were on hand holding a car wash to raise money for their youth football program.  For many of the members, this will be their only opportunity to play football as their schools no longer have or do not have  football programs.  These young men and women worked hard but  had a lot of fun too.  My car is so shiny!

The West Oneonta Fire Department held a delicious chicken BBQ to raise funds for their equipment fund.  I was talking with fire dept lieutenant Sean Morgan.  Did you know it costs upwards to $15,000.00 for each volunteer's gear and training.  I had no idea.  Thanks you to all the volunteers.  The chicken was so good that I even made some deliveries after my remote.

The State Troopers were on hand with their roll over demonstration.  If you ever wondered why you should always wear you seat belt, all you  had to do was watch this demo.  The dummy inside the truck model wore no seat belt and at even at a low speed, it was tossed all over.  Seeing is believing...buckle up!

The Sheriffs Office was busy with their Operation Safe Child Program.  Corrections Officers Kyle Imperato and Alicia Scanlon talked about this free program offering parents and guardians free id cards for their children which include valuable information in time of an emergency.  We took advantage of this.  When my son (4yr) saw his card he was so excited and said, "I got my driver's license!"  This program will be offered again at the Otsego County Fair starting tomorrow.

But wait, there was more...The new 2013 Ford Escape was revealed, totally hot! Plus demos of the Ford Focus with park assist, you know, the car that can park itself!  Oneonta Ford also gave away tickets to the Otsego County Fair and the big Rodeo show on Saturday at the fair.  It was a great day and I'm so glad that WSRK could be a part of it.
