It’s Beer and Blues Day at the Oneonta Farmers’ Market this Saturday, Oct. 4th, featuring free beer tastings by local brewery, Butternuts Beer and Ale, live blues music with George Kilby Jr. , and an informational table and free drawing by Susquehanna auto.

Visit the sponsor’s table to learn about “repairs done right the first time” auto and truck repair services from Susquehanna Auto and enter a free drawing to win a complimentary oil change.  The Butternuts Beer and Ale tent will open for tastings at 11am.  Butternuts beers are brewed in a renovated dairy in beautiful Butternuts Valley, and feature American-style farm-house ales with German, English and Belgian influences.  Sip a sample and browse beer-friendly recipes from the Otsego County Farm to Table Cookbook while listening to the great sounds of bluesman, George Kilby, Jr. Hailing from Anniston, Alabama, Kilby has taken his rhythm & blues stylings from the road-houses of the Southeast to the major music festivals of Europe.  Kilby backed the legendary Pinetop Perkins (Muddy Waters Band) for 2 decades and has worked with such New Orleans greats as Henry Butler, Coco Robicheaux, and Charmaine Neville.  His music has been aptly dubbed "...a New Orleans groove with a New York City attitude".  Music is from 10am – 12noon.

Market vendors will offer late season fruits and vegetables including colorful squash, pumpkins, cabbage, onions, greens, carrots, radishes, beets, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and more, as well as maple products, honey, meats and poultry, eggs, baked goods, specialty sauces, cut and potted flowers, including mums, and handmade woodcrafts.
