On this day, August 27, 1986, former lead singer of the Commodores, Lionel Richie, hit #1 on the U.S. album charts with “Dancing On The Ceiling“. This was Richie’s third solo album, which includes great songs like “Say You Say Me”, “Ballerina Girl”, “Love Will Conquer All”, and of course the title track “Dancing On The Ceiling”. The single “Deep River Woman” from the album features the country group Alabama, and went on to be a #10 hit on Billboards Hot Country Singles.
