The State Attorney General's office has obtained a judgement against Home Improvement contractors who repeatedly and persistently ripped off customers in the Southern Tier and Central New York by going door to door and seeking to pave and repair driveways. The contractors performed shoddy and incomplete work, intimidated customers into paying more than the negotiated price, and failing to abide by New Yorks Home Improvement laws. An agreement was made with Joshua Cooper and Robert Cooper who were doing business under the name Finger Lakes Asphalt. As part of the judgment the Coopers will pay over 8 thousand dollars in restitution to 6 customers who were harmed as a result of illegal and fraudulent conduct. Any customers who believe they were ripped off by the Coopers may file a complaint with the Attorney General's office by December 27th 2014 for restitution.
