Nirvana Debuts New Song “Smells Like Teen Spirit” [Video]
On this day, April 17, 1991, a grunge band based out of Aberdeen, Washington made up of Kurt Cobain on vocals and guitar, Krist Novoselic on bass, and Dave Grohl on drums, debuted a new song during their gig at the OK Hotel in Seattle. That single, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" would go on to score Nirvana a number one hit on the Modern Rock chart.
On this same day in 2004, in Dallas Texas, Kurt Cobain's Mark IV-style Mosrite Gospel guitar sold for a whopping one hundred thousand dollars at the "Icons of 20th Century Music" auction.
