New York is tops when it comes to efforts in reducing injuries and fatalities on roadways. That’s according to a recent report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which says New York had 6.10 fatalities per 100,000 residents based on data from 2013. New York was the first state in the nation to adopt a cell phone law, the first to adopt a motorcycle helmet law, and the first to adopt a seat belt law.
