New NY State Law Requires Electronic Prescriptions
New York lawmakers are trying to cut down on the opioid epidemic with a new law. The legislature’s approved a new amendment to a recently enacted law that requires doctors to submit virtually all prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. The bill would allow doctors and dentists to send the ‘scripts to a secure site that the pharmacy could then download. Supporters say that way, patients don’t have to immediately know which pharmacy they want to use.
