New details have emerged in the murder case of 16-year-old Jeffrey Franklin of Mount Upton. His adoptive parents, Ernest Franklin II and Heather Franklin are accused of killing him and then burning their own house down on the night of February 28, 2017.

According to court records from the bail hearing on Friday, Chenango County District Attorney Joseph McBride said the couple had a big strain in their relationship because of Jeffrey’s special needs and that this defendant was complaining on Facebook about the strain that was putting on her.
