Honoring Our Firefighters

Today, May 4th , is International Firefighters Day.  Let's honor the dedicated men and women who risk their lives to protect our lives and property.  Also let's remember those who have died in the line of duty or who dedicated their lives to serving the community.

Most of our area fire departments are volunteer and depend on our support in order to keep protecting the community.  Whether it's a pancake breakfast or a chicken bbq,  we should go.  Your donation is a great way to  say "thank you" and to ensure the services will be available in your hometown.  Besides, you get some great food.  Oneonta Ford has invited area volunteer fire departments to hold chicken bbq's  to help raise department funds.  West Oneonta Fire Department will be cooking on Saturday May 12th.  I know what's for lunch that day.
