Friends of Christmas, a group of local volunteers, are putting on their 26th Annual Community Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day, December 25, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church at 66, Chestnut Street, Oneonta, New York.  All are welcome to join in the festivity, free of cost.  Dinner will be served from 12:30pm to 2:30pm and meals can be delivered to shut-ins.

Volunteers are needed on both December 24 and 25 to make this dinner possible.  Janet Hillis and Carol Foreman, from Friends Of Christmas, tell us more:

Food and monetary donations are also being accepted.  Home baked goods, turkeys, cheddar cheese, cranberry juice, rolls, fruit, coffee, and cider are all needed.  Checks can be made to St. Mary's Church, earmarked Friends of Christmas Dinner.

If you are able to volunteer on the either day, or would like to make a food donation, please call Carol at 607-432-3084.  If you need a meal delivered or if you need a ride, please call Nancy at 607-435-7188.

It is because of wonderful volunteers like you, that this dinner is able to take place.
