Hartwick College and Oneonta World of Learning are teaming up to put on a free event “Democracy and Kids” this Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Golisano Hall, 3rd Floor Foyer, on the Hartwick College campus.

have designed a number of activities and games for children ages three years of age and up to learn more about the U.S. government, political parties, voting, and the upcoming elections.

Kids will get to enjoy the following:

·        “White House Candy Land”
·        “Create Your Own Political Party​”
·        A Life-Size Voting Booth
·        “Political Twister”
·        “Voting with Victor”
·        “Political Knowledge” Game
·        ​“What Is So Great About “Living in a Democracy?” Balloon Drawing Project·        Sweet treats, including donkey and elephant cookies

The games will be donated to OWL after the event.  Students from Professor Elder’s class, along with OWL volunteers, will be on hand to guide kids through the games and help teach about these important principles.If you have kids, like kids, or like democracy, we hope you will ​stop by to play some of the games, test your political knowledge, or design a balloon to illustrate what is so great about living in a democracy​ among other fun activities.
