New York may soon be offering early voting. According to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office legislation is being advanced that would offer voting 12 days before Election Day beginning with the general elections for 2019. Cuomo says he wants to allocate $7 million in the 2019 budget to fund voting reforms including early voting. Under the proposed legislation there will be eight hour periods during the week and five hour periods over the weekend when ballots can be cast and each county will be required to provide at leadt one early voting site.
