Drug Bust On Elm Street In Oneonta

At about 6:45 Thursday morning, members of the Oneonta Police Department Detective Division with assistance from the Oneonta Police Patrol Division, State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, State University Police at Oneonta and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department with K9 Ozzie, served a search warrant on Elm Street in Oneonta. The search resulted in the arrest of 21 year old Glen Carey of Malverne, 21 year old Gregory Garcia of Franklin Square and 21 year old Nicholas Monaco of Nyack on the charge of 5th degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance for allegedly possessing a quantity of Xanax pills. In addition, Carey was charged with 2nd degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana for allegedly possessing over 16 ounces of marijuana and 1st degree Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument for allegedly possessing two counterfeit $50 bills. Garcia and Monaco were also charged with 4th degree Criminal Possession of Marijuana for allegedly possessing a quantity of marijuana that was more than 2 ounces but less than 16 ounces. Police say the street value of the Xanax is approximately $1,500, the street value of the marijuana is approximately $4,000.
