Nothing is certain except death and taxes and the annual release of DJ Earworm's United States of Pop Mix—but in 2015, the mashup artist has somehow managed to double his typical output.

Since 2007, Earworm (born Jordan Roseman) has seen out each year with seamless mixes of the preceding months' biggest hits. Where he's previously landed on 25 songs per track, though, he managed to fit 50 into the most recent arrangement, called "50 Shades of Pop," which Billboard premiered today (December 2).

"I try to get a feel of what is in the zeitgeist," he told the site, and added that his choices are "more eclectic" this year than they've ever been. "Music has been going through a softer phase than it was a few years ago so there's that return of adult contemporary. That's maybe represented by the Ellie Goulding track, it's very lush and soft. And then there's sort of retro, uptempo dance stuff, and that's represented by The Weeknd track."

The 2015 offering, featured above, appropriately introduces itself with Adele's "Hello" before giving way to Jason Derulo and Maroon 5One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Drake proceed to battle for features as the song advances. And, not too surprisingly, Taylor Swift pops up as frequently as a sleepless gopher. Your calendar might read 2015, but we have reason to believe it's still 1989.
