Deadpool to Premiere February 12th

Do you need something to do this Valentine’s Day? Why not check out the new Fox/Marvel movie Deadpool! The film is based on the Marvel series of comics, and serves as the 8th feature in the X-Men film franchise. It stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson (Deadpool), who receives new abilities after being subjected to an experiment. He then attempts to hunt down the man who almost destroyed his life.

Fans of Marvel will recognize the character from the 2009 film X-men Origins: Wolverine. He was also portrayed by Reynolds then, but his portrayal was widely regarded as inauthentic and not true to the comic books. During press releases Reynolds ensured that the Deadpool who appeared in X-men Origins is not the Deadpool they’ll be representing in this film, and that it will be much more authentic. Reynolds is a long time fan of the comic, and took a producing roll on the film, so we can be assured that Fox will get it right!

Deadpool is set to premiere February 12th.
