Chenango County ‘Tent City’ Cleaned Up

Chenango County authorities were out Tuesday cleaning up an abandoned homeless tent city in Norwich. According to the Chenango County Sheriff’s Department the cleanup work at the site behind the North Plaza along the Chenango River resulted in the discovery of 50 to 60 used needles along with the removal of 16 large bags of garbage. Initial cleanup work started in February but weather delayed completion. Fire departments from Norwich and Oxford assisted with the cleanup along with Norwich Department Of Public Works employees.
